By jeep, you can explore the varieties Himachal has to offer. Trans Himalayan Jeep Safari Tour is an excellent way to explore the lesser known regions of Himachal Pradesh.

The tour starts from Tirthan valley and then continues to the Trans Himalayan Regions of Kinnaur Valley and Spiti Valley etc. These trips involve visiting

And passing through the rugged train. It involves experience the remote cultures

And the people.

The tour has a combination of camps and guesthouse stays which is not available on some other routes.

Day 01- Tirthan valley – BASE CAMP (Gaidhar).

On arrival check in at camp (Gaidhar). Later Fresh n up & rest. You have option to visit Gusheni there meet TIRTHAN & FLACHAN River to enjoy a magnificent view of the region.

Overnight at our BASECAMP.

Day 02-Gaidhar / Sangla (124kms 7hrs).

On our jeeps (sumo) from Jalori pass to Sangla enroute visiting the famous Bhimakali temple in Sarahan, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths. Continue ride to Sangla. On arrival check in at camp/ G house.

Day 03: Sangla / Kalpa (103kms 6hrs)

Morning a visiting the picturesque village of Chitkul and later return back to Sangla and visit Kamru Fort & village. We continue our ride down Sangla Valley and then continue further to Kalpa. On arrival in Kalpa check in at camp / G house.

Overnight at Camp/ G house.

Day 04: Kalpa / Nako (132kms 6hrs)

Morning on our jeeps (sumo) to Nako en route visiting confluence of & river Satluj Spiti at Khab. From here we continue our climb up to Nako. On arrival check in at camp. Evening free to visit Nako village, Nako Lake and Monastery.

Overnight at Camp/ G house.

Day 05: Nako / Tabo / Dhankar (90kms  5hrs)

After an early breakfast at camp Jeep safari on to Tabo village along the Spiti river. Tabo monasterywas founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, It is also called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. Later continue Safari to Dhankar village & monastery.

Overnight at Guest House in Dhankar.

Day 06: Dhankar / Lalung / Pin Valley / Kaza (Full day)

Morning visit Dhankar monastery. Later we visit the old monastery at Lalung village and then ride toPin Valley, his land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. Here we also visit Gungri Monastery and then continue to Kaza. On arrival in Kaza check in and overnight at camp/ G house.


Day 07: In Kaza (50kms) both ways

Morning visit the Ki monastery, 20 kms from Kaza. This centuries – old gompa

is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. Also

Visit the small gompa at Kibber (4205 m), 5 kms further ahead. Ride back to Kaza and evening free to explore the town.

Overnight at camp/ G house.

Day 08: Kaza / Chandertal (170kms 5hrs)

From Kaza to base of Chandertal Lake Enroute crossing some very beautiful villages of Spiti Valleyand crossing over Kunzam pass (4558 m). On arrival check in at Camp.

Overnight at camp/ G house.

Day 9: Chandertal / Manali (116kms 7hrs)

Early morning by walk (40 munits one way) to visit Chandertal (The moon lake – 4270 m) and Towards at Manali, riding along the Chandra river on the dirt road providing views of Bara Shigri Glacier and CB ranges and last cross Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and then meandering our way down to Manali check in at Hotel where the tour ends.

Tour ends in Manali.

If a tour is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/un forseen circumstances (like rains, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh etc), Phoenix Expeditions will issue a tour voucher for the full amount. The voucher can be redeemed for the same tour or another tour in the next one year.

The cancellation charges are as under:

  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trek — 75% refund.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 20 days to the start of the trek — 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 20 days to the start of the trek — no refund.

The best period of safari is July to September:

8 Nights / 9 Days.
